S7 cancels flights to Turkey until end of summer season

MOSCOW, May 18 (PRIME) -- Russian air company S7 Airlines has cancelled flights to Turkey until the end of the 2021 summer season due to uncertain outlooks on the destination, but will be ready to recover sales if the connection is restored, a representative of the company told PRIME on Tuesday.

“S7 has cancelled flights to Turkey until the end of the summer season of 2021, because uncertainty persists regarding this destination. We will be ready to resume sales as soon as the epidemiological situation normalizes, and the air connection is restored,” the person said.

A source with the touristic industry earlier said that Russia had decided to prolong suspension of aviation connection with Turkey until June 30 although the government’s anti-coronavirus center did not confirm the information.

Russian national air carrier Aeroflot said earlier it had stopped sales and canceled all flights to Turkey in June, expect for the previously approved two flights per week.
